As expected, the news didn't take long to spread at incredibly fast rates among beauty enthusiasts and all over TikTok. And the brand's new facial moisturizer, The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan, has gone viral.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan is a water-based gel moisturizer designed to provide intense and long-lasting hydration after just one application. As soon as I heard the news that The Ordinary, whose products I've been using for years, had launched a new facial moisturizer I had to get my hands on it. And, I’m so glad I did. The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan has powerful hydrating properties. In fact, Beta Glucan is 20% more hydrating than Hyaluronic Acid. 

Beta glucan is a polysaccharide found in foods such as oats, mushrooms, barley, algae and yeasts. HOW TO USE

After cleansing and applying any serums or treatments, gently massage a small amount of the moisturizer onto your face and neck. It should be the final step in your routine before SPF and Makeup. For optimal results, use it both in the morning and evening.

The Ordinary recommends that you do a patch test before use.

MY OPINION

I am so in love with this moisturizer. Αlthough I've tried other gel moisturizers in the past, nothing feels like this. I am amazed how this product comes out so clear, doesn’t contain any colour or fragrance and is ultra hydrating.

Application:

The application is easy and smooth. It has such a lightweight texture and feels very comfortable on the skin. As I applied, the moisturizer felt refreshing and left a cooling sensation on my skin making it a pleasure to use in the summer. Once it’s rubbed into the skin, it will soak in pretty fast and disappear complete without leaving any residue or heaviness. Though I did experience a slight tackiness, it disappeared after a minute or so.

Results:

The Ordinary Beta Glucan moisturizer left my skin looking plump and supple, especially around the delicate eye area. In fact, the skin under my eyes felt more hydrated overall and the fine lines were less noticeable. There was an increase in the elasticity of my skin and overall my face looked more youthful and healthy. It also kept my skin hydrated and soft throughout the day, which I'm impressed with because my skin gets thirsty easily in summer. I also liked the fact that this moisturizer leaves the skin looking more on the matt side, so it's especially beneficial for oily skin types.

CONCLUSION

If hydration is your priority and you're in search of a lightweight, long-lasting and affordable moisturizer, Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan is definitely worth considering.
